Save what part of Deer Park?
Map showing borders of the lands involved in the Council Ridge project. Deer Park: 400 acres; MJM: 250 acres (neighbor to the west of monastery who agrees to hold off for us to purchase); Devine: 34 acres; Council Spring: 120 acres (lay friend); Daley Ranch: 3000 acres (wildlife reserve).
With the purchase, the lands combined will form a contiguous open space for the wildlife, connecting it with the Daley Ranch Open Land Reserve. This is one of the key element in the interests of the environmental groups helping us, along with another key factor that our monastery valley and ridges is one of the source for the San Diego creek system and watershed supply.
Blue: Daley Ranch
Pink: Council Springs
Brown: Deer Park Monastery
Green: MJM Ranch
Clear: Devine
Council Ridge Project attempts to protect all adjacent lands around Deer Park. The project is more attractive to environmental groups when it is larger in open area.
