Who am I? Am I my clothes? Am I my grades? With mindfulness - paying attention to what is right now - we will get to understand ourselves and our potentials (the warrior, artist & dreamer etc) better. We learn to focus and relax, to help out and be supported, to be with ourselves and to be with others.
We start developing skills so that we are not pushed and pulled by commercials and advertising, but learn to trust our own judgement of what is really important in life - the Rebel Buddha inside start to wake up!
During this camp we will stay in tents (around 5 teens per tent). The teen girls will get assigned to a tent in Clarity Oak Grove and the teen boys to a tent in the Solidity Campground. There will be monastic and lay staff staying in both campgrounds. Deer Park will provide the tents, but we ask everyone to bring your own sleeping bags and sleeping pads.
Together as brothers and sisters in a family we will practice mindfulness of sitting, walking, exercising, hiking, working, resting, playing, sining etc. More about the practice of mindfulness - right here!
The camp is open to all teens with or without
previous experience with mindfulness, meditation and camping.
