Deer Park TET Pilgrimage
The Deer Park Fourfold Sangha visits local Southern California Temples to share happiness and our greetings for the New Lunar Year.

Dear Friends of Deer Park,
Please join us for this annual pilgrimage of the local Southern California Temples. This year we will visit six temples in the Los Angeles and Orange County area. We will be departing Deer Park early in the morning, first visiting a neighboring temple right next to Deer Park and then traveling to the Los Angeles and Orange County to visit the remaining temples on our list.
It is a joyous event for us as a community to build brotherhood and sisterhood. Throughout the year we do not have many chances to contact and to learn from the temple communities near by. It is also our chance to interact and extend our circle slowly year by year to other Buddhist communities. We know that we are very young in the Southern California area and have much to learn from other temple communities who have been here for a long time. We go to share our New Years greeting and express our gratitude to our “elder temples”. We will visit in the spirit of mindfulness – mindful of our gratitude to all our ancestors and to the Three Jewels, mindful of our joy and happiness in the present moment, mindful of our togetherness. We will visit one temple of the Chinese tradition, one of the Japanese, and a few from the Vietnamese Pure Land tradition that the Venerable Thich Phuoc Tinh teaches at throughout the year.
The bus will departing Deer Park Monastery at 7:00 am. If you would like to meet us at any of these temples to pay greetings then use the listing below to help you make the rendezvous. The time that we will be there is only approximate, since we try our best to leave each temple and be at the next on time. It will be organic time depending on our host and what unfolds at each temple. Some in the San Diego area will be traveling with us on the tour bus, others will drive along side us. Please travel carefully if you are driving.
